Edgerrin James Foundation
The goal of the Edgerrin James Foundation is to improve the decision-making process of youth and young adults, enhancing the quality of their lives and empowering them to make positive contributions to society.
James donated $250,000 to the University of Miami Athletic Construction Project. He hosts the annual Edgerrin James Charity Basketball Classic.
Edge presented state championship rings to the players, coaches, and cheerleaders at his alma mater, Immokalee High School.
The Indians won their first state championship, and James picked up the $14,000 tab for the rings.
James also presented the school with a $100,000 check from his Edgerrin James Foundation, while the school announced that Edge’s No. 5 high school jersey will be retired and James the initial inductee into the school’s athletic hall of fame.
Edge has provided plenty of support, financial and otherwise, for his hometown, including a $1,000 annual scholarship to the school’s athlete of the year, uniforms and equipment for local youth leagues, and a “Fun House” in Immokalee for kids to hang out after school.
Edgerrin James has worked with the Boys & Girls Club campaign and the Immokalee Pop Warner League.
